Elaine was recommended to me by a friend.  After 15 years in my last role, Elaine helped me to consider the possibilities that were open to me for the future, she also helped me realise the skills that I have which I had used every day in my day to day job. Elaine helped me prepare an application form for a role with a national tourist body which consisted of a competency based application form, followed by first and second round competency based interviews. Having being out of the interview world for so long, Elaine helped me get my strengths across on paper and prepare detailed examples for my interviews.  I am now delighted to be starting my new role with the national tourist body in the coming weeks.  I am very grateful to Elaine for helping me through this process.  Miriam (Cork)

I met with Elaine to prepare for an interview; I had been in my previous post for over 20 years and was apprehensive about the interview process! I am so grateful to Elaine for her expertise and sincere interest in my career.  She helped me build my confidence as a candidate and equipped me with the skills to successfully complete the competency-based interview and secure the role. I would highly recommend Elaine for career advice and interview preparation at any stage in your career.

After trying and failing to get into my desired master’s course, I turned to Elaine for help with my personal statement for a second chance to get into a Masters in Dietetics.  Elaine was extremely helpful in preparing and assisting me with my CV and personal statement, the task did not seem as daunting with her assistance. With Elaine’s help, I successfully was accepted onto master’s courses at London Metropolitan University and the University of Limerick. I cannot recommend Elaine enough if you need any help with any aspect of your career journey. Thank you so much, Elaine for everything. Carolanne (Co. Kildare)

Hi Elaine, I got a new job!!!!   I accepted a position as Senior Tax Specialist in a US company. I’ll be based in Cork.  I want to thank you for all your help with the CV and Interview prep without which I don’t think I would have gotten through the 5 interviews it took to get this job. I handed in my notice today and I’m off to California at the end of the month for training.  Thanks again for all your help.  Maria (Cork)

Hi Elaine, I hope you’re keeping well. We spoke a while back. I’m emailing to let you know that I’ve been offered a place on the University of Limerick’s Bachelor of Physiotherapy. Thanks for your wisdom and help to steer me on the right path. You really helped me get back clarity around my career. Thanks again and best wishes. Dara (Cork)

Hi Elaine, I just wanted to let you know that I’m graduating from the MSc Project management with a first-class honours! And I’ve just gotten a job with a civil engineering company based in Dublin. I’m thrilled with how the year went and just wanted to let you know and say thank you for all your help, wouldn’t have gotten here without you!  Anna (Cork)

Elaine was a brilliant support to me in the process of developing my CV to a really high standard and helping me prepare for the subsequent interview for a senior role within the public sector. Her sincere, practical, and kind approach helped me to realise my strengths and gave me a huge boost of confidence in my professional skills and abilities. Her guidance and advice was so valuable to me and I wouldn’t think twice about contacting her in the future should the need arise. Brenda (Cork)

Over the past few years, I felt the need to look at the possibility of returning to college. Since it had been 20 years since last setting foot in a lecture hall, the prospect felt daunting to say the least. Arranging a careers consultation with Elaine, I felt I had nothing to lose as sitting on the fence was becoming boring! My meeting with Elaine removed any doubt I had in my own abilities. Her vast knowledge base and expertise was what I needed to self-guide in the right direction. Now in semester 2 in an Applied Psychology Masters program, I am very content in the knowledge that I have made the right decision. A gentle nudge from Elaine…off the fence! has opened up so many new possibilities that up until now, I had only imagined. Thank You!  Eimear (Cork)

A good friend recommended Elaine to me recently when I told her I was going to apply for a Senior Public Service Clerical Job. This competition was competency based. I knew I was going to need assistance with completing the competency-based application form. The importance of completing the form well was emphasised as candidates were informed that the interview board were going to assess, in detail, the competency questions on the application form and the outcome resulted in a candidate being called for interview or not!!The competency questions were extremely detailed, I completed them to the best of my ability and then Elaine provided me with feedback which I found invaluable. In preparation for the interview, which I was lucky enough to get called for, Elaine supported me by preparing me for the competency-based interview. I found her help, support and encouragement exceptional. I secured third place on the panel formed for 9 Senior Public Service Clerical jobs and hope to take up my new position in the New Year.  I would highly recommend Elaine for career advice and interview preparation and practice. Regina (Fermoy)

When I first visited Elaine, I knew I wanted to change my career path but I didn’t have much direction. Elaine helped me open my mind and explore different avenues. As I was unsure of where I wanted to go, Elaine suggested I complete a series of tests to aid me in deciding on a further career path. I found this very beneficial. I found it so helpful to speak to someone with such a high level of expertise to point me in the right direction. I am now looking forward to pursuing a new career and an area I never would have considered before I received assistance from Elaine. I found the whole idea of going back to education very daunting at first but with the help of Elaine I am now looking forward to it! I am extremely grateful for all the help, encouragement and guidance I received. I would highly recommend anyone to make that first appointment. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Thanks a million. Tommy (Killarney, Co. Kerry)

Without Elaine’s support, I wouldn’t have the ideal work / life balance that I currently enjoy. As a mature graduate with very little sense of where I wanted to be, or what I wanted to do in 2004, Elaine was instrumental in supporting me to find the career path that was ideally suited to me. Now that my children have grown that bit older and are gaining independence, Elaine has recently helped me again in advancing my career into management. Elaine helped me with writing the application form and preparing for a competency-based interview that secured me the job.  I work with young people now, many of whom face the same dilemma as I did back in 2004.  I refer them to Elaine who encourages and empowers them in their decision making, giving them self-confidence and a positive outlook on their own futures.  Neil (Kinsale, Co. Cork)

Disappointed with my Leaving Certificate results I didn’t know what to do. I went to Elaine who steered me in the right direction. I am now nearing completion of the first year of an Honours Degree in Business which I am enjoying. Since writing the above, I returned to Elaine in second year of my Degree to help me with practice interviews for a second-year summer internship I was very keen to secure. Her interview training really helped me understand the interview process and gave me great confidence. I really feel it gave me the edge over other candidates. I was offered two internships with the Big 4 Accounting firms. I am delighted and will start my internship in June.   Sean (CIT Student)
